The Brit Awards will be held tonight at the 02 Arena in London and it is safe to say some pop stars are particularly excited about the night ahead.
James Corden will be hosting the awards for the second year running and has revealed that Coldplay will be opening the show. It has been rumored that a fortune has been spent on pyrotechnics to make it really exciting and a night to remember.
There will be lots of amazing acts performing, such as Adele, Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Coldplay plus many more. Adele will be making a come back after the singer took a break to recover from throat surgery. It will be Adele’s first live performance since her surgery. Last year she stole the show with a performance of ‘Someone Like You’.
Ed Sheeran has been nominated for 4 awards, while Adele and Jessie J have been nominated for 3 awards. One Direction’s début song ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ is favorite to win ‘Best Single’.
The Brit awards started in 1977 and became an annual event in 1982. The Brits is only for British artists and some of the money raised from the evening is donated to charity. On 14 February 2007 the Brit Awards became live so the whole nation could watch the ceremony.
Aside from the awards and performances it is also a night to reflect on music greats. This year Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston will be honoured at the ceremony.
Emma from St Andrew’s School said, ”I like Ed Sheeran and I think he will definitely get a Brit award tonight.”

great article i love watching the brits on TV
Well done great article lots of good info brilliant research!!!!!
Very good article, saw the Brits last night. Honestly, definitely not the best one I’ve ever seen – it feels like since 2008 the brits are getting worse and worse. I loved the previous brit ceremonies, and was hoping for a great one tonight. There should definitely be a ‘Rap Genre’ or even it’s own ceremony becuase there wasn’t enough rappers getting awards.
